Plaza Mayor - Madrid

As going through the streets of Madrid passing the Royal Palace, then Plaza de Espana which is a landmark square to move between others roads.
Getting down from the bus and walking through the Royal Habsburgs "Madrid de los Austrias" the Plaza Mayor and cross the Arc of Gulters, which is one of the 9 ports of Plaza Mayor.
Entering Plaza Mayor, the central place in Madrid. This Plaza was built during Philip III's reign, it's rectangular in shape. In the old times, it was called "Plaza del Arrabal" but after became known as Plaza Mayor. 
You can see the bronze Statue of King Philip III in the center of the Plaza square.
In the same Plaza you can find many restaurants and souvenirs shops too, also you can visit a few blocks away another famous Plaza the Puerta del Sol.
Then passing next to the Puerta de Alcala a neo-classical monument, going to see the Modern part of Madrid that will end the tour of the day.
We pass as a view to the Plaza de Cibeles that is a square with a neo-classical complex of marble sculptures with fountains, then we continue to the Neptune Fountain to reach the part of the Modern Madrid.
