13- Dream Palaces ..

Court of Water Channel in Alhambra
All along the route you'll discover the palaces where the Caliphate of Cordoba spread its influence, leaving in its wake fortresses, temples, great architecture, and a variety of arts and crafts. This route forms part of series of itineraries exploring the Heritage of Al-Andalusia.
Reaching Granada, first stop was the Hotel "Melia Granada" where our rooms weren't ready yet, so we had to leave our bags there in the hall. Some of the group went to put their stuffs in the second hotel.
Then we move to our amazing monumental tour, last stronghold of the Moorish King, the famous Alhambra Complex.
Called also "The Red One", is a Palace and Fortress. It was structured on the remains of Roman fortifications and then largely renovated and rebuilt by the Moorish Emir Mohammed Ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current Palace and walls.
It was converted into a Royal Palace by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. After the conclusion of the Christian Reconquesta, the site become the Royal Court of Ferdinand and Isabella, and the Palaces were partially altered to Renaissance tastes.
Moorish poets described it as "a pearl set in emeralds", an illusion to the color of its buildings and the woods around them.
